Role, contribution and qualification
The University of Florida is one of the most comprehensive universities in the United States. It is among the top three universities offering more academic programs on a single campus than any of the nation’s universities with more than 48.000 students. Its Food and Resource Economics Department supports a large, diverse, and high quality program of graduate study. Many FRE faculty have received university, regional, and national awards for teaching, research, and extension programs. FRED contributes to the project expertise in the trade streams of fresh products such as oranges and grapefruits from Florida to the EU.

Dr. Lisa House, Associate Professor
Dr. Lisa House is an associate professor in the FRED. Her main interests are agribusiness management, strategic management and marketing management. As investigator or coinvestigator of over $1.2 million in grant funds, Dr. House’s conducts research in the area of consumer acceptance and perceptions of food products, which she will contribute to this project. She has authored over 25 refereed journal articles and presented over 45 professional papers and symposia.
Dr. Thomas Spreen, Professor and Chair
Dr. Thomas Spreen is a professor and Chair of the FRED at the University of Florida. Dr. Spreen he has focused on a research program that examines crops important to Florida and impacted by the changing trade environment, such as citrus and sugarcane. Recognized internationally for his work on the production and marketing of citrus. The relevance of his research is also supported by the over $1.4 million in grants he has received.
